21/10 Large Starling roost Bishops Court area.
Fieldfare first heard 23/10, several seen 25/10. No definite sightings of Redwings this month.
6 Egyptian Geese flying from Orchid Lake. Two seen on wet field north of Dyke Hills on 23/10.
25/10 – 42 mats lifted on Hurst.
Foxes had scat marked 5 mats (12%).
Vole runs under 39 mats (93%).
Vole nests under 28 nets (67%).
20 voles were found, living under 9 mats (21%) – 11 Field Voles (up to 4 at a time), 4 Bank Voles (a pair and singles) and 5 others species unidentified/not recorded.
A live Pygmy Shrew was also found under one mat.
Road casualties: Hedgehogs on village roads and an adult Fox dead on bypass 28/10, very near to Buck Pool.
